California have been ordered to evacuate

their homes, as a wildfire rages in Orange
County, south of Los Angeles. The blaze,
dubbed the Silverado Fire, broke out just
before sunrise. By midday, the blaze had
already burned about 2,000 acres (300
hectares), the state fire agency reported
with about 4,000 firefighters battling
wildfires across the state. California
has already seen its worst wildfires in
18 years. They have been responsible
for more than 30 deaths and driven
thousands of people from their homes.
